Quality Control Software Specialist

Experience / Skill Set

• CS, BIS, Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2 to 5 Years Experience in Software Testing or Development.
• Familiar with standard Testing concepts, practices, and procedures
• Familiar with software development processes
• Some programming ability preferred.
• Must possess excellent communications and diplomacy abilities, including the ability to defuse potentially confrontational or adversarial situations.
• Must work well on a team and also be self-motivated.
• Project Management: Maintaining and updating Project Plans
• Methodical / Process oriented
• Windows versions from 95 on XML, HTML, networking basics, OS installation and setup, hardware configuration skills strongly preferred
• Database, SQL, or programming skills preferred.
• MS Office
• Logic and problem solving skills

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains complex Test Plans and Test Procedures by keeping them up to date. This includes making minor changes during a test cycle as well as making major changes to existing Test Plans to make them reflect new versions of a product.
• Enters Requirements and Test cases in the Testing Center
• Creates and maintains simple Test Plans and Procedures.
• Executes Test Plans and Test Procedures to test, analyze, and evaluate software.
• Logs and tracks Defect Reports based on the Test Plans they execute.
• Completes Test Reports based on the results of the Test Plans they execute. Test Reports are based on existing Templates.
• Tracks testing progress in MS Project plan
• May represent the Testing team in Project Meetings
• May be a Product Test Lead. At times will coordinate small groups of testers
• Works under general supervision.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines as well as limited experience and judgment to perform the functions of the job.
• A certain degree of creativity is expected in problem solving.
• Additional Testing needs as deemed necessary by management.
